This blog post is in response to Ray Prince’s question when he commented on my "Video Rankings, Transcription & Mobile Blogging" entry.

Hi Ray, thanks for your greetings!
I hear TrafficGeyser is a great product, and the creators one (Frank, Michael & Rocket) are good people.
TrafficGeyser does more than broadcast video to 35 video-sharing sites from what I understand. Its a comprehensive service that offers slidecasting, bonus royalty-free music packs, toll-free numbers to record podcasts or testimonials, video-to-audio conversion, broadcasting to podcast directories and social bookmarking sites. For anyone who wants these features from one service for a 97/m subscription, then TrafficGeyser is for them.
TubeMogul broadcasts and tracks metrics of your videos across a dozen video sharing sites from one screen (which is super convenient). It does what it does very well, plus its free.
For those who do not mind using multiple services to accomplish what TrafficGeyser does (in one paid membership), and would prefer free services or pay-to-own-once products/services, then they can accomplish similar or better results using:
1. TubeMogul.com (free) – broadcasts & tracks metrics to 12 video-sharing sites
2. Slideshare.net (free) – creates slidecasts by mashing up your images/slides with your voice or music audio
3. MusicBakery.com (15/song or 60+/album) – pay-per-piece royalty-free music or buy albums; there are also many other royalty-free music sites on the net.
4. Google for ‘free toll free numbers’ to find a service that can provide you with this, and have it forwarded to your destination of choice for recording whatever you want.
Or if you don’t care for the toll-free, then use:
- GrandCentral.com (free, owned by Google),
- Vonage.com (paid subscription VOIP service) or
- AudioAcrobat.com (19.95/m) – podcast, video & teleseminar recording or
- Hipcast.com (small monthly subscription) – podcast, video & teleseminar recording
or the many other services available.
5. Blip.tv (free or 8/m) – for video-sharing and hosting, but it also offers cross-posting to other popular sites and services. Plus it encodes your video to MP4, FLV and MP3 too.
6. OnlyWire.com (free), Pingoat.com (free) & RSS Submit software (100+ one-time purchase to own) – these free ping services and paid software helps you to update blog and search engine directories of your new content on your blog or at video sharing sites. Plus RSS Submit will ping podcast directories with the Podcast Plugin.
If you or anyone else would like to share with us their experiences using both, I’d welcome it here. Cheers!
As always, I welcome your thoughts, feedback and comments…
