Membership Software – ExtremeMember.org – Developer Shane Goldberg Interview – Part 1

Researching, selecting and integrating different software scripts to launch a membership website can be "cruel and unusual punishment". I should know.

At WordpressTutorials.com, my membership site that teaches business owners how to start and use Wordpress blogs for business, uses aMember (membership gateway), Aweber (email module), iDevAffiliate (affiliate module), 2 installs of Wordpress blogs (front end and backstage), Paypal and 2Checkout (payment gateways). It’s hairy to integrate, let alone teach it to my colleagues and members. Learn from my mistakes – don’t do what I did – save your sanity!

Furthermore, there are so many options in the marketplace, from cheap scripts (that leave you wanting more) to expensive hosted solutions (for the corporate market or business owners who have lots of money to burn).
