As this is the beginning of the new year, we covered more ground about planning and forecasting for the new year. References were made to a previously recorded video about my planning process. In addition, we covered alot of ground across many topics ranging from blogging, video, social media and web marketing.

Today’s show is the last broadcast for 2008. Alot has happened since our first broadcast in April this year. Ustream.tv, with the help of our show supporters (thanks peeps!), has listed the “Half Hour Huddle” amongst the “Highest Rated” shows on Ustream, along with presenting our Huddle as the “Featured” show on their home page 3 weeks in a row on Mondays. 11:29 eldonletkeman-1 : cknicker: You need the proper software that will allow you to use green screen or Chroma Key.  I use Adobe Premeire Pro and after effects.  Sony Vegas can do it as well.  Adobe also has an easier program called Ultra that allows you to put in pre-designed backgrounds. It’s a finicky process.

The 1st of December saw my return to the Huddle after a week off due to travels out of town, and not wanting to carry gear with me whilst attending my best friend’s surprise birthday party - can you blame me?

In addition, Sarah (my wife) and I were celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary and my 35th birthday at our favorite local resort, and returned just an hour prior to this broadcast, so you’ll see some references to it in the Show Notes below.

Great questions as usual from our Huddle supporters. Questions range from camcorders, to parental filters for children surfing the web, to broadcasting with Ustream, to blogging with Wordpress. One question by ‘yogiwan’ at timestamp 11:09 opened up a “can of worms” and I shared in more detail how one can achieve massive exposure, traffic and sales from blogging, podcasting, video, social media and other effective no-cost/low-cost marketing strategies. This is my personal “HOT Blueprint” for getting tons of traffic, and branding YOU as an expert in whatever field you choose to attack.

Alex Karis (you can find him at his Hurricane of Gratitude Facebook Group and on Twitter) of Corpus Christi, TX created this thanksgiving video thanking me for value I’ve contributed to him and others. Very humbling! I’m so appreciative of Alex’s creative efforts to shoot and publish this video on Facebook.

If I may be so bold as to leverage this into a lesson for not-for-profit and business groups, it’s that prior to June 2008, Alex and I didn’t know each other. Alex found my LIVE video broadcasts - he especially liked my "Bordercast" episode - and proceeded to follow, connect and dialog with me since then. It has been less than 5 months and this video above is the 2nd video he has created to "share me" with his audience, his "tribe".

If there are some questions you could ask yourself, these may help…

"How am I engaging my audience?"

"How are you engaging your future audience-to-be?"

"What kind of value are you investing in them?"

11:23 markress : You can go to K-mart or Walmart and buy the neon green posterboard. I purchased six and pasted them onto the walls behind me. 6 x’s $3 equals $18. Use some glue/paste we already at home and about 3 minutes to set up. For some reasons the lighting is easier with the posterboard than the cloth
