I was so moved by this book (I LISTENED AUDIO) I purchased the book for my son and wish to pass it to all my family- this made the understanding and love of the trinity so simple and moving that I can go on and on about the spirtit moving in me as I listened. We have one commandment and that is to love our neighbor- this I wish on everyone

Our nephew bought our family The Shack after our youngest son, 23 yoa, died suddenly while away at college - April 25, 2009. This book ministered to my heart in the deepest and most profound way. God provided this book to "take me away" from the heartache of having a child pass away. I only wish I wasn't done with it...what did it do for me? Well our son was "born again" at age 15, but was not walking iwth Christ on a day to day basis, bottom line, he was human and not perfect. He loved the Lord and knew JEsus was the only way -- so the shack presented God/Jesus/Holy Spirit in such a loving, kind, sweet way that is so contrary to what we hear today. I am a daughter of God and honestly, I have been so turned off by the church today, long before our son went to be with Jesus. It is about love, love your neighbor as yourself, and know God. I am rambling, my heart is broken but always from the time we found out our Daniel son was no longer on this earth with us -- God sustained us with strength and gave us a peace that passes all understanding that Daniel is in Heaven now, he just moved. Thanks and May God's Light Shine Upon all of you!

It took me a while to get the beginning of the book. I read the first part before i moved on, but when I did I couldn't stop. I learned so much about the questions I have been asking myself. I felt it was me asking the questions. After reading it I knew I wasn't alone. This is the first book that I have read that was able to put it in common terms. Once I started reading it, it was hard to put down. The book was introduced to me by a handyman I hired to do some work. He said, "you have to read this book, you will never be the same."

I let me mother read the book and she has read it over and over about 10 times. She called her sister in Houston and she bought the book and her two daughters bought the book. My mother took it to the church and several ladies from the church bought it. My mother told my sister and brother and they bought it. My mother is spreading the word better than any advertising agent. When we go home to visit her (she is 74) we have to be prepared to sit down and discuss the book.
It would be a great day if she had the opportunity to meet mr. Young.

I am about three quarters of the way through "The Shack" and have been touched; as have been many of the folks who previously commented. The story has enhanced my perspective of God and the relationship that He so desires to have with us.

I did have a couple of comments that I wanted to share. First, I think that one must be sure to view this, and similarly wonderful books, as a supplement to the word of God and not a replacement. While the Bible may be difficult to understand in places, it is God's Word and it alone is alive and powerful, sharper than the sharpest sword, cutting between soul and spirit. I suggest that anyone having serious trouble understanding the Bible ensure that they 1) have a reputable easy-to-read translation with extensive footnotes and 2) pray that the Holy Spirit will unlock the meaning of God's word and apply it to their heart.

The second comment concerns God's great nature. He is truly loving, peaceful, awesome, and--praise Him--merciful. In fact, my vocabulary is far too limited to begin to describe how wonderful God is! However, God is also just. Without His justice, the world and our lives would be capricious jokes. That's why heaven and hell are necessities. God's assurance of an ultimate judgement for all expresses both His just nature and His high regard for humanity. After all, someone goes through life keeping God at arms length and/or trying to reach God through their own efforts or theology has very clearly expressed their desire to keep far away from God and not approach Him on His terms. God would be belying His own nature if He forced people that did not want to know Him to spend enternity with Him.

Be blessed.

<strong>MEMBERWING PLUGIN does not do what they promise!</strong>

Seriously, If youre looking to buy a plugin for membership blogs this plugin does only the half of what they say on their site.

I purchased this plugin at $99 a few days ago, and here is what I discovered. I needed a plugin for membership blog and like everyone else I was blind sighted by the promises that I saw on this plugin website about USER SUBSCRIPTION AUTOMATION. Now they are dependent on PayPal for this feature. So, here is what they replied to me on my request:
<blockquote>
There are 3 ways to have person register with membership site:
1. Send him to http://www.YOUR-SITE-NAME.com/wp-login.php to register as "subscriber"
2. With memberwing - without charging him any fees: follow these instructions:
http://www.memberwing.com/memberwing-plugin/how-to-add-free-members-to-membership-site-without-payment/
3. With MemberWing by creating "join" page, creating "subscribe" button via paypal, pasting paypal "subscribe" button into "join" page and following instructions here:
http://www.memberwing.com/software/wordpress-membership-site-plugin-memberwing/memberwing-user-guide/
</blockquote>

I choose the 3rd option and did everything by books but heres what I found when testing it! When users Subscribe and checkout on PayPal its MANDATORY that they create a PayPal account unless they have one, fair enough and understood because PayPal is responsible for managing user subscriptions so it needs to keep a record of user information their subscription date etc. Seriously No offense, but I think this process should have been integrated into the plugin itself, which is not the case and here's what I get in another reply from my support request:

<blockquote>
Hello,
You are correct in your estimation that some users would not like to join Paypal to join membership site.
It could be too much hassles for people and lost sales for membership site business owners.

I would rather not get into full blown e-commerce shopping cart development but use existing services.
One of the viable alternative to Paypal is 2checkout.com. They do support recurring payments and seems to allow API for integration with other scripts.

I will look into integrating 2CO in memberwing as next enhancement.

Thank you for your detailed concern!

Gleb
</blockquote>

Pretty comforting thought, now I have client who needs this system up and running before this guy pulls off his sleeves and finishes up with the 2checkout.com integration. Screw them! I can't wait for that long and neither does my client, so here's what I did I purchased another plugin hopefully which has all the promises they make!

<strong>IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO BUY THIS ILL-COOKED PLUGIN THEN DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT. STAY AWAY AND TRY ANOTHER PLUGIN. THESE GUYS ARE PROBABLY LAZY AND NAIVE SINCE THEY HAVE TO DEPEND ON PAYPAL FOR SUCH FEATURES</strong>

Sallie - I just heard the author speak this weekend and he commented on this exact subject being one of the most controversial in his book. Paul (the author) states that Jesus was obviously not a "Christian", he was/is a Jew. He was born, lived and died a Jew. The term "Christian" did not come to be used until many years after Jesus death. Paul even uses the following joke to poke fun at the whole concept: Did Jesus arrive in heaven and think to himself "...darn, if only I had waited 10 years, could I have asked myself into my own heart?" The author also says that people often ask him "Are you a Christian?" He responds...tell me what one is and I'll tell you if I am!
...Hope this helps. David

My life will never be the same. My eyes were open to the restictions that I myself had placed on what God would be like. I did not want the book to end. I read this book while recuperting from a heart attack and as such was able to devote significant time in reading this book. I purchased the book and am recommending it to all of my friends. Thank God for you!!!

I thought the book the shack was a wonderful book. Sometimes the Bible is hard to understand and this gives a person a better understanding of how the Lord realy is. This book takes the fear out of religion and makes you want more of the lord. This book shows that we have a loving lord and not what we have been taught about heaven and hell. I feel Mr. Young was lead by the Lord to write this book. The Lord does come to us through dreams and visions and this book proves that. The book the Shack may be fiction but it is so true.I have myself and know other people that have experenced these things that was in this book. I feel everyone should read this book and they will fall in love with the lord all over again, or want to know him. Golda Davidson

I read the book "The Shack", it was an awinspiring story. When I wasn't crying, I was laughing, or eager to see what would follow. There are few books I pick up and can't put down. This was one such book. It was a life changing story. To each one that I have reccomended this book ( and there has been many) they have all spoke of how life changing it is, how they want to be kinder to their fellow person or how they want to just love everyone. It is wonderful and thank you Paul for bring it to us.

Sallie asked a question regarding "What did the author mean when in a chapter it stated that Jesus was not a Christian? I have not come to that place in the book yet however, may I throw this out. "Christian" represents a state to be Christ like, to walk the pilgrimage, to believe in Christ. Having said that: Jesus Christ is already "Christ" period. He paid the price. We need him so much for all depths of our hearts. I am so humbled and thankful he is Christ and he knows the depths of our hearts and he is the loving great healer. "He is "The great I AM" In Christ Love Susan

I just finished transcribing all the interviews for The Social Media Bible, www.TheSocialMediaBible.com . I became part of the team virtually; I am a virtual transcriptionist. I only mention this as a testament to the power of social media, or as I like to call this combo, Social Media ².

I urge all to go to and listen to these nearly 50 interviews with the top SVP's and founders of the major social media companies world wide, Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, Twitter, LinkedIn, MySpace, etc. They are 30+/- minute podcasts about how each social media technology is being used for business.

I have also transcribed for Mr. Tony Buzan, the innovator of Mind Mapping.

Hi James, thx 4 stopping by. I haven't used Utterz/Utterli in a long while. I need to check them out again ;-)

It definitely is a great service, with syndicating your mobile audio podcasts from phone to your blog. They've even added video now, but unsure if I can stream video from iPhone directly to the service, and have it auto post to my blog yet, have to check it.

I'm focusing on Live Video Broadcasting for now at <a href="http://ShermanHu.tv" rel="nofollow">http://ShermanHu.tv</a>. Also working with some folks on HD compression technology and bringing lots of great 'toys' to the market for business folks to add to their reach and conversions.

Stay tuned with me on this blog or at <a href="http://twitter.com/shermanhu" rel="nofollow">my Twitter stream</a> ;-)

Lots of great information in your posts - I have noticed that Utterz is now Utterli - (may be they were just trying to off-load some old TShirts and promo stuff! - only kidding I am sure they appreciate your help promoting their services - I only checked them out because of your posts and I am sure you sent many other readers their way too) I am thinking of signing up - do you still use them or as this web2.0 Social media stuff changes so fast is there some other service that you would suggest (budurl? - which may be a bit too much for my needs (too focused on tracking) but I think Paul Colligan suggested this for ubersyndication or something like that!)
Keep up the good work!

This book is both amazing and wierd. I don't like other people's idea of God and agree with Tony P. that the Bible is the best source for truth. I have one big question for the author, what does he mean when he says Jesus is not a Christian? That whole last page of that chapter has me wondering about the whole message!
Thanks, Sallie

I have been a christian since I was 9 years old...I am now 48.
Your book has tremendously made a difference in my life.
After reading some reviews, I see I am not alone in the emotions that 'The Shack' brought to me.
I laughed, I cried, I wanted to shout....so many feelings.
In September, 1997, my 16 year old son was killed in a car wreck.
Over the years, I have been on emotional roller coaster.
In the past couple of years though, God has eased my pain.
Some of the incidents in your book, have only confirmed some of the things that God has revealed to me.
I know it is fiction, but I believe it came from a heart that Truly loves God.
Thank you so much for sharing it with all of us.
I'm telling everyone I know, to read it.
Again, Thank You

I loved this book and it was an amazing transition for me. This book was such a healing experience for me. I had just gone through a devastating period in my life where I caught my husband cheeting on me, and he was really mean and he managed to fire me from our company and took my income away and removed me from my life and moved his girl friend into my life.

I was depressed and could hardly get out of bed. I was wondering around a book store looking for something to read and came across "The Shack". I didnt know what it was about, but it sounded inspirational, so I bought the book. The girl at at the check out counter told me that she had heard it was really great. I had never heard of it before.

I like so many others, must admit, I couldn't put the book down. I laughed, cried, laughed again. I is an amazingly powerful book that made me look inside myself. My divorce is not comparable to loosing a child, but the principles that are conveyed in the book spoke to me. I was consuming myself over the grief of loosing my husband my business and I felt so sorry for myself. I got out of bed and got a job and started back on the road to a healthy happy life with my kids after I read the book. It wasn't an instant change, but it was a beginning to getting me out of bed and back into the world of the living.

Hello,
As a practicing Catholic and someone who tries to live live in a Chrisian way, I am amazed at the critisism that this book is getting. I have read it and can truthfully say it has made me feel even closer too God than I have ever done. This wonderful book is an implulsive pleasent read. I have thrown it at everyone, saying ' you MUST read this book'. I cannot remember ever feeling so strongly about any book before and I am an avid reader.
Please lay off the bad bad bad comments and just hope that this book will help to bring all who read it a little peace and calm within their lives.
Thank you Angela

Hi Sherman, :)

I am making myself available to the bloggers in your "posse" who are interested in getting higher placement in the SERP's and increased organic traffic by leveraging "social syndication concepts", RSS mashup application technologies, and advanced RSS multimedia mashup technology.

I currently have a case study I will be happy to share with the "posse" which details a site I began developing 5 weeks ago. The site went live 4 weeks ago. The site is currently #1 in Google for it's main keyword phrase, has first page listings in Google for multiple secondary keyword phrases, and already has a page rank 3. Traffic to the site continues to grow.

RSS technologies that include:

Social Syndication Concepts
RSS Multimedia Mashups
RSS Widgets - Gadgets
Custom RSS Readers - Multimedia Integration
Viral Syndication Concepts
Social Syndication Concepts

are vertical, compliant, and powerful tools for any online business. The key words in the previous sentence are VERTICAL and COMPLIANT. Be advised.. what I teach is vertical and very compliant. It is not hype, "get rich quick", or a magic bullet of any sort. The Fwicki application and advanced syndication concepts can be leveraged to establish any site or blog as a true authority. The application combined with solid, compliant concepts reveal one of the most important and least understood technologies on the web.. advanced RSS syndication & application technologies.

Google understands Fwicki and has integrated Fwicki services into their Feedburner application. The patent-pending Fwicki application and it's technologies provide cutting-edge solutions for online business. These solutions can include one-way inbound links for site and blog owners, authority site associations, advanced syndication concepts, media & video integration without the time or expense associated with production, and more.. MUCH more.

As I work with CEO's, large businesses, small businesses and individuals, I find that RSS is one of the most overlooked and misunderstood technologies on the web. There is good reason that Google, MSN, Yahoo, and other major entities spend tens-of-millions annually leveraging RSS technologies.. the reason is they make hundreds-of-millions doing it. The beauty of RSS is that it benefits EVERYONE on the web. It doesn't matter how large or small, or what your category might be. Fwicki and advanced syndication concepts give even the entry-level blogger an opportunity to leverage the mighty foundation of RSS being laid by Google and others for compliant, vertical involvement and benefit.

The beauty is.. it really works, and Fwicki makes it easy.

RSS is arguably THE MOST POWERFUL TOOL in online business! If you are still not convinced of the opportunity offered by RSS and advanced syndication concepts.. perhaps we should chat. If you are wondering if Fwicki is a recognized authority and leader in RSS, simply search:

RSS management

multimedia mashups

RSS consulting services

RSS rapid deployment

social syndication concepts

in Google, Yahoo!, or others. Pay particular attention to the number of results in these categories.. it will tell you everything you need to know.

I have known Sherman for years. He has always been a friend and treasured colleague. Sherman strives to bring VERTICAL, COMPLIANT, VALUABLE information and technology trends to his audience. Because I know him and know his ethical standards, I have decided to offer my expertise to his "posse" in order to "de-mystify" advanced RSS concepts and shed light on the opportunities available. The savvy among you will quickly realize the potential of the offer and see the opportunity at hand. As with any vertical, compliant strategy, those who leverage first will be much more likely to be the ones to "own" their category (niche) on the web.

Be sure to inform me that Sherman sent you when you contact me through Fwicki. And also be sure to review the Fwicki terms of service before signing up at Fwicki. The Fwicki community is CLOSELY monitored to ensure it's place as a leader in cutting edge RSS technology remains solid. Sites that DO NOT provide real value to the web community at large, WILL NOT be allowed to use the Fwicki technology. This ensures the integrity of the community and the value of leveraging the technology for those who qualify. Fwicki resides in an exclusive neighborhood on the web.. and it benefits everyone to keep it that way. Interested in seeing the neighborhood? Check it here:

Do you have the right stuff? Want to find out more? Contact me.. let's chat.

Hi - I LOVED The Shack!

But there is one thing the author missed - I would LOVE to talk to him about it - it is the most amazing discovery about God that I have ever made, and would add an even further dimension to his work.

I hope to hear!

My friend told me about The Shack. I cried, I laughed, and when I was finished I made a mental list of all the people I needed to tell about it. I grew up learning about God's love and this story explained what I learned. Thank you for this gift. God has used you in such a wonderful way through your writing.

I am so incredibly delighted to discover this Sherman! (How many times can one person say another person rocks before becoming utterly annoying ;)

After the huddle yesterday I made the decision to create a special little session for myself (until I meet that precious boyfriend slash husband who will be creating with me in the near future! ;) ... so I had looked around for some questions / techniques that I could base my little session on. Didn't quite find what I was looking for so I stopped looking and decided to wing it in my very own special Col-way.

... and today *poof!* here your video is, dropping into my lap. I love how that happens. Thank you for sharing. One of my favorite things about you is how beautifully you merge professional and personal ... it's a gift ;)

Warmly,
Col

… and today *poof!* here your video is, dropping into my lap. I love how that happens. Thank you for sharing. One of my favorite things about you is how beautifully you merge professional and personal … it’s a gift

Warmly,
Col

Brilliant, Andy! Thanks for adding more value to this idea/concept.

We're "whole" people. As much as men believe we can compartmentalize our lives, if we're not tracking or in alignment with the various areas of our lives, we're out of sync, which then affects the other areas of our lives in a negative fashion. This is so true with our relational lives, and I find I'm a better business person when my life is in sync on the home front and with Sarah.

Thanks for sharing about your affirmation partner practice. Could you expand some more on what your sessions are like and best practices for locating such a person for ourselves? Thanks in advance ;-)

Hey Sherman, great video, I do an "as if" letter that touches on these areas. It has proven very effective. Thanks for the inspiration to add more focus on my relationship with my spouse and romance. Often times it is easy to just focus on the business side of things.

I also have an affirmation partner that I call every morning at 6:45am. I can't emphasize enough how powerful this has been for me over the last year for both of us. It helps focus my thinking - right now - on the positive and away from negative and limiting beliefs.

Thanks again..

@NanBade - Yes, its growing in popularity. Powerful enough? If you're asking if it delivers results, yes it does.

Consider your needs, your budget, your objectives. If you're planning to use video for marketing on a consistent, monthly basis, and $97/m is fine for your budget, then TrafficGeyser will work well for you as an all-in-one solution.

If you're testing out video marketing, consider using the other free services I recommend, and determine your next steps from there. Ultimately, your business, your choice.

Hey Michele,

I reveal how I get the white background effect on this video. At timestamp 11:38, an audience member asked the question and I shared my strategies - scrub the video to after that point and you'll get your answers ;-)

Tip: It has to do with white backdrops, lots of light and opening camcorder apertures ;-)
